NIWOT, Colo. -- Students head back to class Monday at Niwot High School, after school officials cancelled school Friday when they discovered a ‘hit list’ with 30 names.

Over the weekend, parents received a letter from the school saying that one student was suspended because of the incident.

School Principal Dennis Daly said no arrests have been made in the case, but detectives are speaking with persons of interest.

Although the criminal investigation continues, the sheriff's department recommended that Niwot High remained open Monday.

The school says they are not taking any chances, and existing security systems have been enhanced while additional deputies will patrol school grounds and the surrounding neighborhood this week.
