GREENBURGH, N.Y. — Carmelo Anthony said he lost his cool after Kevin Garnett said things to him that he feels shouldn’t be “said to another man” during a Knicks/Celtics game Monday.

Anthony said he sought out Garnett after the Knicks lost to the Celtics. He didn’t tell the AP what he wanted to say.

The two exchanged words during the game. Anthony was clearly bothered by what was said and had a terrible time shooting.

He said Tuesday that he “allowed some negativity to come into my circle.”

Anthony said he went to the Celtics locker room to wait and waited for Garnett outside the team bus. He said they talked and sorted out the matter.

However, ESPNNewYork.com reported Anthony and Garnett very nearly got into a real fight.  The incident near the Boston Celtics’ bus brought New York City cops, MSG security and New York Knicks Coach Mike Woodson sprinting in to calm the situation.

The NBA has said it is investigating the matter and fines could he handed down.
