DENVER — Homeowners in Denver now have to worry about their homes being burglarized even when they’re no longer living in them.
According to Denver police, thieves have been burglarizing homes “staged” for sale across the metro area over the past two months.
Apparently the thieves have been making off with furniture and appliances that are rented by realtors in order to show off the feel of a home to potential buyers.
Homes in the Park Hill, Cole, Whittier, Clayton and City Park neighborhoods have been victimized by these burglaries, police say.
In an effort to thwart similar crimes in the future, police are asking the public to be on the lookout for suspicious parties at homes for sale. If you see anything out of the ordinary, you’re being asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
