Skier hospitalized after hitting tree at Copper Mountain

SUMMIT COUNTY, Colo. — A 13-year-old girl was hospitalized after hitting a tree while she was skiing at Copper Mountain Sunday.

The teenager was on skiing on a beginner trail when she crashed into a tree around 11 a.m., according to a spokesperson from Copper Mountain.

Ski patrol offered the girl emergency assistance on the mountain before she was taken to a hospital in Frisco.

The teenager was not wearing a helmet at the time. Police have not released information on her current condition.
