DENVER — At tire and auto shops all around metro Denver, many took time Tuesday to make sure their cars and trucks were ‘winter-ready’ as the forecasters say we’re in for some snow.
The flakes will spread across metro Denver the Front Range and eastern plains late Tuesday and snowfall will be heavy during the morning hours Wednesday according to those with the weather forecasting magic wand.
“We hear the snow could begin falling even during the Nuggets game with the Spurs [Tuesday night],” said Denver Public Works’ Ann Williams. “So we’re encouraging people to take it slow on the way home.”
Tire changes—summer to winter—on tap at places such as Big O Tires, along with battery and anti-freeze checks for those who want to go in ice and snow.
“People should get these winter tune-ups done before the snow flies, just to be on the safe side,” said Vance Adams, manager at Big O.
Even with the clouds hanging over the Rockies, at East High kids were dressed in shorts and t-shirts playing football for lunch. But all that is slated to change overnight, when we are supposed to pick up a couple inches of snow.
