AURORA, Colo. – Aurora police released a composite sketch Friday of a man they believe hit a 14-year-old girl and then dropped her off at a 7-Eleven.

The teen was hit Thursday morning while crossing the street at Colfax Avenue and Laredo Street, said Aurora police spokesman Frank Fania.

Police said the suspect picked up the girl and ushered her into his vehicle and tried to take her to the hospital. The girl refused, so he dropped her off at a nearby 7-Eleven.

The girl was not seriously injured and had just bumps and bruises, police said.

Police do not have a name for the suspect, nor do they have an age, Fania said.

Investigators are still working to determine what time the girl was dropped off at the 7-Eleven so they can look at surveillance video and see if the suspect’s car was caught on tape, he said.

“At this time, police have limited information on the suspect and his car. He is described as a “skinny” black male with a “short dreadlock” hairstyle. The car is described as a “dark” colored sedan,” Fania said in a news release.
