DENVER — A Powerball ticket sold in Wheat Ridge is worth $2 million. That ticket was sold at the Diamond Shamrock store at 12300 W. 44th Ave.

Tickets sold in two other states hit the game’s biggest jackpot in history.

Those winning tickets were sold in Arizona and Missouri.

The winners will split the record-breaking estimated jackpot of $580 million.

Thee ticket sold in Colorado that won $2 million matched the first five numbers but not the Powerball. The buyer purchased the “power play” option.

The winning numbers drawn Wednesday night were 5-23-16-22-29 and the Powerball was 6.

The prize for the lottery — held in 42 states, the U.S. Virgin Islands and the District of Columbia — swelled to historic levels after the jackpot rolled over 16 times without a winner.

It was not known Thursday morning whether the jackpot tickets were sold to individuals or groups.
