LITTLETON, Colo. -- A two year old child died after he was hit by an SUV early Saturday morning in a busy mall parking lot.

The victim, identified to FOX-31 Denver by his family, is Bram Xavier Venn of Lakewood. According to investigators, the toddler was hit around 10:30 a.m. Saturday morning in the parking lot of the Aspen Grove Shopping Center.

Sources reported the toddler was walking towards a portrait studio when he was hit by a Lincoln Navigator.

"It's just an accident as far as I know," said Kim White-McClure, the boy's grandmother.

The Venn family is expected to setup a public donation fund next week to help cover funeral costs. The toddler is survived by his parents and three brothers.

"He just had the world by the horns, God only knows what he could have been in his lifetime," added his grandmother.

The driver of the SUV, whose name has not been released by investigators, was taken to the hospital after the crash but has since been released.

As of Saturday night, Littleton Police had not said whether or not the driver of the SUV will face any charges.
