Coloradans participate in St. Jude's "Give thanks. Walk" event Saturday
DENVER — Hundreds of Coloradans laced up their sneakers today for the “Give thanks. Walk” event for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Among the participants was FOX 31 Denver’s Deborah Takahara, who was the emcee of the event.
Gayle Van Zile walked in honor of her grandson Tyler, who was treated at St. Jude during the last months of his life.
“St. Jude is the absolute wonderful miracle worker. There’s no charge for any family who goes there. They get the best care in the world. They are absolutely wonderful,” said Van Zile.
Denver is one of 90 cities in across the nation that hosted a St. Jude walk Saturday.
Denver’s walk held at City Park Saturday raised more than $40,000 dollars to help treat kids battling cancer and other diseases.
