DENVER — An employee outside of a northeast Denver hotel fell off a ladder Thursday morning, causing a stir that scared several guests.

Originally, police received reports from the Crowne Plaza Hotel at 15500 East 40th Avenue that a man had fallen four stories from a hotel window, but once Aurora police arrived on the scene they found those reports to be false.

Instead, the employee ended up falling approximately 10 feet outside of the hotel, which is close to the Pena Boulevard exit off I-70 that heads toward Denver International Airport.

Police said the man suffered minor injuries.
