Video: Northern lights put on a show in Minnesota
WHEATON, Minn. — An incredible spectacle in the sky over Minnesota Wednesday. The glowing and flashing green of the northern lights put on a spectacular show, and it was caught on video.
The phenomenon known as the Aurora Borealis happens when the sun releases a massive burst of solar wind, sending billion of particles into space.
NASA says this particular burst hit the Earth’s magnetic field last weekend. It caused a geomagnetic storm that is visible to us as the northern lights.
