4 former Corrections officers arrested for alleged drug use
CANON CITY, Colo. – Four former Department of Corrections officers were arrested for allegedly using drugs at the Colorado State Penitentiary in Canon City.
The Pueblo Chieftain reported that according to an arrest warrant, 26-year-old Steven Ricotta was accused of taking Percocet pills, which are narcotic painkillers to the prison, and sharing them with three of his co-workers.
Ricotta is being charged with felony distribution of a controlled substance, felony possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor use of a controlled substance, according to the paper.
The paper also reported that 28-year-old correctional officer Jesus Romero, 29-year-old Charles Latimer and 36-year-old Mace Rebeterano have also been arrested for investigation of felony possession of a controlled substance, and misdemeanor use of a controlled substance.
