One rescued, firefighter injured after 3-alarm church fire

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – One victim and a firefighter were injured during a three-alarm fire at a Colorado Springs church Saturday morning.
According to The Gazette, firefighters responded to the Restoring Hope Church on the 400 block of West Pikes Peak Ave. just after 4 a.m. Saturday.
The Colorado Springs Fire Department said one person was pulled from the church’s basement, and one firefighter suffered minor injuries fighting the flames, according to the paper.
KKTV reported that the church was supposed to have its grand opening on Sunday. There was no information on whether the church will continue with those plans.
The identity of the victim and the extent of their injures have not been released. Investigators are looking into what caused the fire.
