PARKER, Colo. — Police arrested a registered sex offender who they accused of inappropriately touching a child in the locker room at the Parker Recreation Center.
They received a call at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday on a call of a sexual assault at the center, 17301 Lincoln Ave.
The victims were two juvenile boys.
Parker police investigators say the suspect, 19-year-old Corrin Elijah Cleveland, inappropriately touched one of the children and continued to conduct lewd acts on himself.
The victims ran from the locker room and told recreation center staff at the front desk what happened.
“A recreation center employee ran out into the parking lot and observed the suspect get into a white vehicle and obtained a license plate,” a statement from Parker police says.
That information led officers to Cleveland, who they learned is also a registered sex offender with the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
He’s charged with Sexual Assault on a Child and Unlawful Sexual Contact.
Police are interested in getting information that would help them find any additional victims. The phone number to call is 303-805-6560.
Police also point out the children in this case did the right thing by running away and reporting what happened to staff. Officers also acknowledge the quick-thinking of the employee and his actions that led to the arrest of the suspect.
