Police investigate second crime in Capitol Hill this weekend
DENVER — I’s a seemingly endless walk for Denver police detectives as they search for answers after an early morning shooting near 11th and Broadway.
The victim of the shooting died at the hospital, and investigators are trying to figure out what happened.
Because of the large volume of foot traffic in the area, a suspect that was involved in the crime was quickly arrested nearby.
The shooting comes after 28-year-old Ryan Haldeman was stabbed to death Friday morning on his way home from a popular bar near 13th and Pennsylvania.
Both deaths have people who live in the area worried about their safety.
According to statistics from the Denver Department of Safety, violent crime in Denver has risen slightly from 2011 to 2012.
Police said there is no reason to believe the two murders are related, but their result has caused a bit of fear in the Capitol Hill area.
