Man shot, killed after early morning fight in downtown Denver
DENVER – Police have identified a suspect in a fatal shooting that happened in downtown Denver early Sunday.
According to the Denver Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of 11th Avenue and Broadway at 1:20 a.m. on reports of an altercation in the area. When police arrived, they found a man suffering from a gunshot wound.
The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
Police said the incident started when several people started fighting near 11th Avenue and Lincoln Street. When the situation escalated, the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim, according to investigators.
Officers arrested 24-year-old Marvin Joel Rosario-Lopez near the scene. Police said Lopez faces a charge of first-degree murder in the case.
