Broomfield 4-car accident sends mother, child to hospital

BROOMFIELD, Colo. – A mother and her 13-month-old child were injured after a four-car accident on Highway 287 Sunday.

At around 2 p.m., Broomfield Police and North Metro Fire Rescue responded to an accident involving four vehicles that were traveling northbound on Highway 287, just north of Miramonte Boulevard.

Police said a 13-month-old was transported to a local hospital with serious injuries. The child’s mother was also taken to the hospital for non-life threatening injuries. Their names have not been released.

The northbound lanes of Highway 287 at Miramonte Blvd. are closed, and are expected to reopen at approximately 6 p.m., according to police.

Police are still investigating what caused the crash.
