Man hit by bus at DIA suffers serious injuries
Denver International Airport
DENVER – Police said a man suffered serious injuries after he was hit by shuttle bus at Denver International Airport Saturday morning.
According to a Denver Police spokesperson, the victim was hit by a Budget Bus on the fifth level of the passenger pickup and delivery area.
Investigators said the driver of the bus stayed on the scene after the pedestrian was hit. The victim was taken to the hospital with serious injuries, according to police.
The area on the fifth level was closed until 2 p.m. so investigators could survey the scene. A spokesperson for DIA said the accident did not affect regular traffic of passenger pickup and delivery, and the closure was for buses taking and bringing passengers to rental cars, parking lots and fly lots.
Travelers were advised of the closure via an airport paging system.
