Registered Dietitian Jessica Crandall from Denver Wellness & Nutrition takes a look at plant stanols and sterols.
1 cup oats uncooked
1.5 cups whole wheat flower
¼ cup brown sugar
2 tsp baking powder
½ teaspoon baking soda
2 TBSP dried buttermilk powder
½ tsp salt
¼ cup egg substitute
2 cups nonfat milk
2 TBSP oil (fortified with plant sterols)
1 TBSP vanilla extract
1 mashed banana
Place oats into a blender with wheat flour, sugar, buttermilk powder, baking powder, baking soda and salt
Mix in egg substitute, non-fat milk, oil and vanilla
Finally add mashed banana
Cook on medium heat and flip pancake when browned
