RTD bus routes detoured near DU, Park-n-Ride structure closed for debate Wed.

DENVER — Some RTD bus routes will experience detours near the University of Denver Wednesday due to street closures for the presidential debate.

The Park-n-Ride structure at the University of Denver will be closed. Commuters should plan to use other Park-n-Ride facilities at I-25 and Broadway, Colorado Blvd., or Englewood.

Specific bus routes that will be affected include, but are not limited to the routes 24, P, and T. There may also be delays to route 21 along Evans Avenue due to traffic congestion. 

By 4 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, the closure of Buchtel Blvd will prevent the route 24 from serving the University of Denver Station.  The route 24 will continue on University Boulevard without service to the University Station and the bus stops along Buchtel Boulevard. 

Light will operate normally and the University of Denver station will remain open. Riders should expect to see enhanced security.
