Deer crashes into long boarder jetting down Lookout Mountain at 40 mph
GOLDEN, Colo. — One Utah skateboarder is lucky to be alive after colliding with a deer during a practice run down Golden’s Lookout Mountain on Saturday.
He was participating in the Buffalo Bill Downhill on Lookout Mountain over the weekend.
“Stuff happens, you take risks when you skate so it kinda comes with the sport I guess,” said 17-year-old Justin Vitale, the skater whose crash was all caught on tape and is becoming a hit on YouTube.
Aurora’s Mike Paproski caught the incident on tape through a helmet video camera.
“You want to videotape everything you’re doing cause amazing things happen,” added Paproski.
The skater, whose collision has been viewed over 200,000 times, did not suffer any major injuries. By phone, the teen stressed he’s still trying to comprehend what happened.
“I was so kinda stoked that I was alive after seeing this guy tackle this deer,” said Paproski.
The deer was reportedly okay.
