Pilot crash lands plane in Greeley field
GREELEY, Colo. — A pilot crash landed his small plane in a farm field near the Greeley-Weld County airport Wednesday.
The Greeley Fire Dept. responded to the scene about one-half mile east of the airport at 2:30 p.m.
“They found the pilot outside of the single engine aircraft, a Beechcraft Bonanza, uninjured,” says Greeley Fire Dept. Division Chief Dale Lyman.
Crews checked the area for any spilled fuel, fire or other hazards and they didn’t find anything.
“The pilot reported that the aircrafts engine had been worked on recently and shortly after takeoff he began experiencing problems, forcing him to land in a freshly plowed field,” Lyman says.
