Woman gets out of handcuffs, steals deputy’s vehicle
GEORGETOWN, Colo. – A woman is in custody for stealing a sheriff’s deputy’s vehicle after she was pulled over during a traffic stop in Clear Creek County Sunday.
Authorities said that when the woman was pulled over on Interstate 70 at about 10 a.m. Sunday, she proceeded to back her car into a patrol vehicle. Once she was handcuffed and placed into the sheriff’s vehicle, deputies said she escaped her restraints and took off in the car.
Authorities said they chased the woman going westbound on I-70, which ended when the woman lost control and rolled the vehicle.
The suspect was injured and taken to Summit County hospital. No deputies or officers were injured during the incident.
