Site of Aurora theater shooting to reopen
AURORA, Colo. — The owner of the Century 16 theaters in Aurora plans to reopen the complex by the start of the new year.
Aurora Mayor Steve Hogan sent a letter to Tim Warner, president of Cinemark, earlier this month.
It said leaders have publicly asked members of the community for their thoughts on this issue. “We believe that we are hearing, and indeed have heard for some time, a collective desire and wish for the theater to re-open,” Hogan wrote.
Warner responded in a letter dated Thursday, Sept. 20, “It will be our privilege to re-open the theater.”

There will be changes made to the theater complex, and details need to be worked out about visitation for families of those killed in the July 20 massacre and plans for any memorials.
Warner says he hopes the theaters can reopen by the start of the new year.
