Broncos Monday night blog: Denver’s comeback falls short in 27-21 loss
The Denver Broncos did not get the start they wanted against the Atlanta Falcons Monday night. Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning threw an interception on the 3rd play of the game and the Falcons ran it back to the 1-yard line. They scored a touchdown three plays later.
McGahee rushes for a touchdown on 4th down. Denver has closed to within 6 points with 3:25 left in the game.
Willis McGahee rushes for more than 100 yards tonight. He scores a touchdown. Atlanta 27, Denver 14.
Falcons score again. Broncos behind 27-7 halfway through the 3rd quarter.
Peyton Manning passed John Elway to become 3rd on the all-time list for most pass attempts. Elway had 7,250 during his career.
Tony Gonzalez did it for years against the Broncos for the Kansas City Chiefs. He’s doing it tonight, too. 7 catches so far this game.
Manning engineered an impressive drive with time running out in the first half. Throws TD pass to Demaryius Thomas. 20-7 at halftime.

The replacement refs aren’t having a very good game. The Broncos have used both of their challenges for the game… won one, lost one.

Going into tonight, Manning is 11-3 on Monday night with 29 TDs, 12 INTs and a QB rating of 99.1
The unthinkable happened. Manning threw his 3rd first quarter interception
Julio Jones of the Falcons drops a pass in the end zone. Atlanta kicks a field goal and leads 10-0.
Manning intercepted again. He’s 1-4 passing with two interceptions
