Obie the dieting dachshund is trying to shed some weight. He currently weighs in at a whopping 77 pounds.

The dog’s owner, Nora Vanetta, a vet technician in Portland, Ore. examined Obie and found he was more than twice as much as a healthy dachshund should weigh, according to the New York Daily News.

Vanetta decided to put her dog on a weight-loss regimen and started a Facebook campaign, “Biggest Loser, Doxie Edition,” in an effort to track Obie’s effort to lose 40 pounds.
