Police arrest suspect in fatal Arvada stabbing
ARVADA, Colo. — Police arrested 51-year-old Abdu Latif Kazembe Abunantambu-El in connection with a fatal stabbing that occurred Friday night in the 5800 block of Pierce Street.
According to police, the victim, identified as 52-year-old Levi Johnson, was at a friend’s house with his wife when Abunantambu-El forced his way into the home and attacked the victim.
“After stabbing Johnson, Abunantambu-El also threatened the victim’s wife and physically assaulted the other female,” Arvada Police representative Jill McGranahan said. “Johnson was taken to St. Anthony Hospital West where he was pronounced dead upon arrival.”
Drugs and alcohol are suspected factors in the assault.
Police immediately took Abunantambu-El into custody. He is currently being held at Jefferson County Jail.
