Wife of cab driver accused of sexual assault says he didn’t do it
GOLDEN, Colo. — Miheret Fikadu says she is here to support her husband. “Here,” is the Jefferson County Courthouse, where Fikadu’s husband, Samuel, was being advised, through a TV monitor, of sexual assault charges levied against him.
The 39-year-old taxi cab driver is accused of sexually assaulting a female fare early Thursday morning after dropping her off in the 2200 block of Depew St. in Edgewater. He was arrested a day later in the Green Valley Ranch area of east Denver.
“He’s a good person,” says Miheret. “He wouldn’t do that. He’s a really nice guy and I’m 100 percent sure he wouldn’t do that.”
Also at the courthouse, neighbor Aaron Brown. “He’s a very good man and husband,” says Brown, adding that the two families’ children often play together.
The alleged victim was not in the courtroom. Fikadu’s next court appearance is Friday.
