DENVER – Three weeks after the Aurora shooting, pastors and trauma specialists from across the country are coming to Colorado to help survivors and their community with the healing process.

“Stress, anxiety, fear, so many things emerge and come from a tragedy like this,” said Doug Stringer, the founder and President of Somebody Cares America.

On Friday, over a hundred people showed up Denver’s Church in the City to hear from mental health specialists about the healing process.

“We need to let them know that it’s a sinful world but that doesn’t mean we should let that evil take over,” said Pastor Michael Walker of Church in the City.

Trauma specialists warned attendees that events like the Aurora shooting can take a lifetime to heal from.
