New video shows inmate with gun during escape from hospital
GREELEY, Colo. — New video was released Friday from inside the Greeley emergency room where a prisoner took off with a sheriff deputy’s gun last month.
The July 13th scene shows patients in the waiting room when Raul Alaniz emerges in his orange jail jumpsuit, pointing a handgun.
You can see Alaniz shuffle in his shackles outside.
He points a gun at Weld County Sheriff’s Deputy Paige Stupka on his way out, and then he tries to start a car.
When that fails he runs through the parking lot into a nearby neighborhood.
Alaniz later shot and killed himself after running into someone’s home.
