Lightning starts 100-acre brush fire east of metro Denver
Brush fire burned 100 acres at 136th Ave. and Strasburg Rd. in Adams County, Colo. July 27, 2012
ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Lightning sparked a 100-acre brush fire on the plains east of Denver.
It happened at about 3:30 p.m. at E. 136th Ave. and Strasburg Rd.
Firefighters from Strasburg, Bennett and Southeast Weld fire departments contained the fire within about 45 minutes. There were able to keep it from crossing Strasburg Rd. and heading across land where there were some farm homes.
It never threatened any buildings. There were no injuries.
