Body of missing Aspen hiker found
PITKIN COUNTY, Colo. — The body of the New York paramedic who went missing in the Maroon Bells area has been found, according to authorities.
Lenny Joiner, 31, was first reported missing Monday at approximately 1:18 p.m. His last known location was on the top of Maroon Peak on July 19, around 10 a.m. Joiner’s vehicle and campsite were discovered Monday, but an aerial search was terminated due to bad weather.
According to Pitkin County officials, rescue helicopters discovered Joiner’s body while searching for two other missing hikers who got stuck atop a cliff in the same area. The helicopter collected both men and Joiner’s body.
