Parker pit bull injures owner, kills schnauzer

PARKER, Colo. — A pit bull injured its owner as it attacked and killed a schnauzer in a Parker neighborhood Thursday.

Parker Police said the owner of the schnauzer was out walking the dog around 8 a.m. when the pit bull escaped the confines of its home, crossed the street and attacked.

The schnauzer died of its injuries and the owner of the pit bull suffered a hand injury trying to restrain the dog. In addition to the injury, the owner of the pit bull was also issued a citation.

The pit bull has been quarantined.
