Longmont house fire called ‘arson’
LONGMONT, Colo. — Investigators have identified a possible suspect in an early morning house fire who set a front and back door of a home on fire Monday morning.
Neighbors first reported the flames on Bowen St. to police around 5:30 a.m. One eyewitness helped to get the family out of the home through a side widow. Neighbors reported seeing flames reaching as high as the roof.
The Longmont Fire Department confirmed on Monday night it had identified the material used to start the fire but was waiting until questioning a suspect before releasing that information publicly.
Investigators tell FOX31 Denver that three people inside the home at the time of the fire escaped without injuries. Neighbors reportedly heard crackling noises.
While a suspect has been identified there has been no arrest made.
Both the Longmont Police Department and Longmont Fire Department are investigating.
