Two ejected from vehicle in I-70 rollover

UPDATE: CDOT reports all lanes of I-70 are open as of 11 a.m.

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. — The Colorado State Patrol is reporting that a one-vehicle rollover which ejected two parties from a vehicle temporarily closed westbound I-70 at the Eisenhower Tunnel.

The accident was reported by the Colorado Department of Transportation at 9:45 a.m. approximately two miles east of Silverthorne. State Patrol is reporting that two people were ejected from the vehicle when it rolled.

Both were transported to a local hospital with “serious body injuries.” The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The Eisenhower Tunnel was temporary closed going westbound. But as of 10:11 a.m., the the tunnel was completely reopened. Traffic was reduced to one lane at the scene of the accident near Silverthorne with “significant delays” in the area, according to CDOT.
