62-year-old Denver man accused of attacking his elderly parents

DENVER — A man faces charges following an attack against his elderly mother and father in their southeast Denver home.

Clifford Garel, 62, is accused of assaulting his 84-year-old mother and 83-year-old father overs several days last week.

Investigators say he didn’t allow them to leave their bedroom and withheld food and medication from them.

Garel is charged with attempted murder, as well as two counts of assault on an at-risk adult.

Garel’s bond is set at $100,000 and he remained in jail Thursday.
