Poll: Will Andre Miller or Matt Prater have a bigger impact?
Backup point guards and kickers might just be synonymous in terms of importance in the wide world of sports. Two Denver sports teams just signed one of each.
Matt Prater connected on 19 of 25 field goal attempts last year for the Broncos, including four game-winners. He missed only seven field goal attempts over the course of the 2009 and 2010 seasons and his career long is 59 yards — a mark he set in 2010 and matched in 2011.
Andre Miller averaged 9.7 points and 6.7 assists last year for the Nuggets and didn’t miss a game despite suffering a nasty shoulder injury. He also averaged 11.4 points and six assists during a seven-game playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers, including a 24-point, eight-assist outburst that helped the team take a pivotal Game 5 win.
