DENVER — Andre Miller is expected to extend his second stint with the Denver Nuggets in the form of a three-year contract, according to reports from Yahoo! Sports.

Marc J. Spears is reporting that the 36-year-old point guard was seeking a contract that would pay his $3 million per season. There is no word on how much this reported contract would be worth.

Serving primarily as a backup to Ty Lawson, Miller averaged 9.7 points and 6.7 assists last year. Always a durable player, Miller did suffer a shoulder surgery in the lockout-shortened season, but it didn’t cause him to miss any games.

Miller was particularly effective for the Nuggets in their first round playoff series against the Los Angeles Lakers that went seven games. He averaged 11.4 points and six assists in that series, including a 24-point, eight-assist outburst that helped the team take a pivotal win in Game 5.
