COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- If you glance at places like Garden of the Gods and Woodmen Avenue west of Interstate 25, it can look like a ghost town -- empty streets, blocked off by cones and Colorado Springs police.

Authorities are there, in part, to make sure no residents return to their homes in evacuated areas, and also to keep potential looters out of the fire zone.

Businesses along Garden of Gods, a popular spot for summer tourists, have been closed for the week.

The Chick-Fil-A wants to help with the healing process.

"All of this can be replaced, but you can't replace lives, and so, we've decided to re-open tonight just to be here for the community," said manager Randy Watson Thursday.

Watson says his restaurant also plans to feed firefighters responding to the Waldo Canyon Fire.
