OMAHA, Neb. – Aurora’s own Missy Franklin is headed to the London Games.
The Regis Jesuit High School senior set a new American record in the 100-meter backstroke finals of the USA swimming trials Wednesday evening with a time of 58:85 seconds.
The win automatically qualifies her for a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team.
Franklin, 17, is hoping to qualify for several other swimming events during the swimming trials in Omaha this week.
