ASPEN, Colo. – A 200 pound bear was found in the kitchen of an Aspen home Saturday wandering in and out of the dining room.

The family of three and their dog locked themselves inside their master bedroom while Aspen Police arrived at the scene.

According to Aspen Police, a horn was placed in the window to try to scare the bear out of the house. When that didn’t work, the bear was shot and hit with bean bag rounds. It eventually ran out of the home and back into the woods.

Officers said it happened so quickly, no pictures could be obtained.

There is no word on damage done to the home.
