2 hurt in rollover crash following police chase

ARVADA, Colo. — An SUV crashed and rolled over on I-76 and Sheridan Blvd. Friday following a chase involving the Colorado State Patrol.

State Patrol spokesman Trooper Josh Lewis says a trooper on patrol watched a Ford Explorer get into a a crash at W. 72nd Ave. and Sheridan just before 4:30 a.m.

When the Trooper tried to investigate, the driver of the Ford took off, and a brief pursuit took place. The Ford went south on Sheridan to I-76 where the driver lost control and the vehicle rolled over on the highway.

Lewis says a 20-year-old male and 19-year-old female were hurt and taken to St. Anthony Hospital. Their conditions have not been released.

The Ford may have been reported stolen last week according to Lewis.

Traffic on I-76 was delayed in both directions during while troopers worked on their investigation.
