Fire damages 2 homes; child blamed

AURORA, Colo. – A child playing with fire sparked a blaze that seriously damaged two homes on E. Lehigh Avenue in Aurora Friday

The fire was first reported at about noon.

 “When crews arrived on scene, we had fire in one house that had spread (from one home) to the exterior of the second house,” said Aurora Fire Captain Allen Robnett.

Firefighters extinguished the fire within an hour.

No injuries were reported, and Robnett did not say whether the child was playing with matches, a lighter or fireworks.
