Head-on crash kills 1 near Lafayette

Crash on Hwy. 7 near Lafayette, Colo. June 21, 2012

LAFAYETTE, Colo. — A head-on crash between a semi and a car killed one person on Colorado Hwy. 7, or Arapahoe Rd., north of Lafayette Thursday.

The crash closed Arapahoe between 95th St. and U.S. 287 for several hours while police conducted their investigation. Detours were in place.

Colorado State Patrol spokesman Trooper Nate Reid did not know how long the closure would last.
