Aurora apartment catches fire Wednesday
AURORA, Colo. — An apartment building near I-225 and E 6th Ave went up in flames Thursday night.
Aurora Fire Department Public Information Officer Allen Robnett said a call was received at 7 p.m. reporting the building at 378 N. Potomac Way was burning.The fire started on the second floor before spreading to the attic. Two units in the 12-unit building were affected.
“We were able to knock down the major body of the fire and stopped the extension from moving to the east,” Robnett said.
One police officer who was helping to evacuate residents had minor injuries from smoke inhalation. One resident was treated on the scene and released. No other injuries were reported.
