Wednesday reports from the Associated Press indicated that that the BCS commissioners have approved a four-team, seeded playoff model that will be presented for voting to the university presidents next week.

All 11 commissioners came to a consensus on the plan, though they provided few specifics about the it. Pac-12 commissioner Larry Scott provided some details, saying there would be two semifinal games worked into the existing bowl structure and that the location of the national title game would have a bidding process similar to the one used by the Super Bowl.

Now the BCS Presidential Oversight Committee will have to approve the plan. It meets Tuesday in Washington. Notre Dame athletic director Jack Swarbrick, who was standing in for under-the-weather BCS Executive Director Bill Hancock, said that the committee would also consider alternatives to the approved model.
