Moose wanders into Loveland Harley Davidson dealer
LOVELAND, Colo. — If you were in the market for a motorcycle in Loveland Tuesday, you may have gotten more than you bargained for.
Marketing Manager Katie Stultz said a young bull moose showed up at the Rocky Mountain Harley Davidson lot around 7 a.m. and wandered around for several hours as onlookers took advantage of photo opportunities.
Stultz said she believed the moose entered the motorcycle dealer through the Thunder Mountain Amphitheater where the gates are usually kept open.
Division of Wildlife officers responded and eventually tranquilized the moose, giving those who hung around an up-close-and-personal look before blindfolding the animal and taking it back to the nearby mountains.
DOW officers said this is the time of year when cows wean their calves. That might have been why this particular confused youngster was in the area.
