WELD COUNTY, Colo. — State Highway 392 is closed indefinitely near Lucerne after a severe storm destroyed part of the road.

It’s closed one mile east of Lucerne in both directions because 30 feet of the highway are gone.

A culvert that runs underneath the highway was ruined during the storm Thursday night.

Crews will work during the next couple of days to make repairs and get the road reopened Sunday afternoon.

Motorists need to plan extra time for their trips as alternative routes will have to be used.
