Residents are assessing damage and cleaning up Friday after severe weather struck for a second straight day.
Elbert County officials confirm two tornadoes touched down during the storms Thursday. At least eight homes have moderate to severe damage. One minor injury was reported.
One home on Ridge Road sustained shattered windows and roof damage from golf ball-sized hail.
“I was up here for a part of it then I went downstairs with the kids until we heard glass breaking and stuff,” said David Matzler.
The Red Cross and emergency management are currently helping the victims of this powerful storm.
Quieter weather is in the forecast for Friday and the weekend.
