Hail, rain damages businesses in Castle Rock
CASTLE ROCK, Colo. — Heavy rain and hail in Douglas County caused some damage in the Castle Rock area, including at the Outlet stores.
Clean up was underway Thursday morning at a handful of businesses.
“We have six or seven stores that have flooding on the floor and then through the ceiling also,” says Rich Martin of the Castle Rock Fire Department. “We’ve got about three-and-a-half inches of rain here and the hail it’s hard to tell because of the way it was running off.”
The damage was relatively minor at the Outlet stores. Castle Rock Fire officials say it would be up to the individual stores whether or not to open Thursday morning.
A ceiling collapse was reported at the King Soopers store and Founders Pkwy. and I-25. An employee told reporter Chris Jose the store could be closed for three days during repairs.
